A Guy, a Computer, and Entirely Too Much Caffeine
Tuesday, 9 April • Weekend De-briefing [Lite]
Defying gravity, time, and space -- to say nothing of the usual circulation-arresting lack of legroom -- I flew into Boston on Friday. A very nice flight, overall. Heck, my window was even strangely free of the usual year's worth of view-obliterating noseprints. Always have loved that dramatic approach to Logan, skimming low over the bay, and this time was no exception.
On Saturday, drove to Montreal for a movie with E., who was striking in her new do and resplendent in her tie-dyed jeans. Fun as ever, too. Many thanks to new wife, mother, and all-around nice person Claudia, for providing the fateful link that introduced me to E. in the first place.
With E.'s help this weekend, rediscovered a latent fondness for adventure-driven, caffeine-fueled road trips, Swedish meatballs, and Due South. (Great for getting recumbent in front of the tube, that cushy leather sofa of hers.)
Was reminded that while money may not be everything, it is some things, including a very handy item to have when playing consumer at Ikea. Kept looking for the free samples, but couldn't seem to find them anywhere.
Have been home 24 hours now, and am still savoring those long, free-associative conversations in the car, the comic book booty from Million Year Picnic, and the lamb masala that was my last taste of Harvard Square before heading home Sunday night.
Don't yet know what the coming weekend holds, but if it's 1/10th as good as the weekend just ended, your correspondent will be a contented camping-type person, indeed.
